Acme Armature Works service technician earns balancing training certification

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Acme Armature Works Incorporated Service Technician Shane Krieski recently completed a Fundamentals of Balancing training course offered through Schenck Balancing and Diagnostic Systems, based in Deer Park, New York.

The course, which is designed to provide practical skills for increasing balancing efficiency and streamlining production, assists students by incorporating hands-on exercises to improve technique on balancing machines and instrumentation.

Krieski completed several exercises on machines and instruments that closely resemble those he works on during his daily duties as an electric and servo motor repair service technician at Acme Armature Works Incorporated.

Other topics covered included following:

• ISO tolerances and terminology

• Industry standard tolerances versus drawing tolerances

• Machine and rotor setup

• Instrumentation functions and operation

• Maximizing instrumentation features

• Selecting the best balancing speed

• How to avoid interference of measurements due to drive and roller harmonics

• Proper machine maintenance and troubleshooting

Upon completion of the course, Krieski earned Level 1 – Balancing Operator certification by successfully demonstrating a knowledge of unbalance correction techniques, proper instrumentation functions and proper rotor-machine setup procedures.

“We place a very high value on training and certification, which gives our staff the knowledge and skills they need to provide the best possible serve to our customers,” Acme Armature Works Incorporated Owner Chad Bahrs said. “I want to congratulate Shane on his initiative and hard work in completing this valuable training course.”
